Muneca is an 18-year-old dog. Now, in the autumn of her life, she needs love and care more than ever.
The poor soul has lost her eyesight and doesn’t hear well either. But her owner doesn’t seem to care.
He callously dumps Muneca at an animal shelter, claiming he can no longer take care of her.
At the Shelter
Muneca arrives at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center in Los Angeles. Here, she receives good medical care, although the vets can’t restore her eyesight. They manage to rid her of pesky fleas, and she gets nutritious meals.
Her previous owner seemingly neglected her quite a bit.
Even though she’s now well taken care of, the shock of being abandoned lingers deep in her heart.
A Touching Encounter
Shortly after Muneca’s arrival at the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center, she has a very touching encounter with a woman.
Her name is Elaine Seamans, a staff member at the shelter. Muneca throws herself into the arms of Elaine and doesn’t want to let go.
She’s so happy that there’s a kind person offering comfort.
Unforgettable Images
In this moment, photographer John Hwang happens to be in the house for a photo project.
He manages to capture the meeting between the affection-starved dog and the compassionate woman in impressive and unforgettable images.
These photos garner significant attention on social media.
A New Home for Muneca
The attention ensures that Muneca finds a place in the Frosted Faces Foundation, specializing in the needs of older furry friends.
But it gets even better. Many people step forward, expressing their desire to adopt Muneca and provide her with a real home.
Today, the four-legged senior lives with Amy Gann, where she’ll spend her golden years surrounded by lots of love and attention.
