Joy Behar’s recent tumble on “The View” brought a burst of unexpected excitement to the show! Even though the set had been upgraded for comfort, the 80-year-old comedian still found herself on the floor in a hilarious accident.
On Thursday, Behar lightheartedly recalled the live TV moment when she missed her seat while trying to land on a tricky swivel chair. With a laugh, she quipped, “Remember when I fell on stage? My butt missed the chair.” The audience roared with laughter.
Whoopi Goldberg chimed in, offering her perspective. She pointed out that the viewers at home didn’t see everything the hosts saw. “We saw you trying not to fall,” she explained, her voice filled with concern. “It was scary because we didn’t know if we should catch you or if that would make it worse!”
In true Behar fashion, she joked that her job felt like a wild theme park ride, comparing the moving chairs to a ride at Coney Island. “It’s like I’m on a roller coaster!” she said, grinning.
The upside of her little fall? New, safer chairs were brought in! These chairs had four tall legs, a square seat, and a backrest to keep everyone from tumbling again. On Thursday, Behar proudly showcased the new seats, saying, “Look at these beauties! No more accidents!”
But not everyone was thrilled. Goldberg humorously interjected, “They’re not new for me because my behind doesn’t fit in this chair, as I’ve said many times!” The crowd erupted with laughter, and Goldberg continued, “While my old chair fit better, it might not have been your favorite, Joy!” They teased each other, sharing a good-natured banter about their seating situation.
Earlier that week, 67-year-old Goldberg had also come to Behar’s defense after co-host Ana Navarro, 51, claimed that Bill Geddie, the late co-creator of “The View,” was responsible for both hiring and firing Behar. This show of support highlighted the strong bond among the hosts, making the atmosphere lively and engaging.
In another highlight, Behar made headlines by calling Texas Governor Greg Abbott a “sadist.” She described him as someone who enjoys causing pain or suffering, sparking conversations that extended beyond the show.
Despite her unexpected fall, Joy Behar’s little mishap added a delightful twist to “The View,” keeping the audience entertained and on their toes!
