A little puppy named Lucky is truly living up to his name after a rough start in life.
Desperate Cries for Help
Lucky wasn’t even a day old when he was found by a woman in the neighborhood. She had followed the heart-wrenching cries of the tiny furball.
Her own dog was in the middle of doing his business when she stumbled upon a litter of puppies that had just been born.
The owner was a man who “bred” dogs in his backyard and didn’t care about the fate of the baby furballs anymore.
Since he could no longer profit from them, he simply handed them over to the concerned woman.
Foster Mom Springs into Action
When Clanay Reza, Lucky’s future mom, heard about the litter, she immediately offered her help to the woman.
“If you need a foster mom or assistance with the rescue, just let me know, and I’ll come pick them up,” according to a report by The Dodo.
Since the little furballs had just been born, they were naturally ultra-tiny when Clanay took them in.
She said,
“They looked like baby hamsters, they were so small!”
Lucky is the Weakest Link
Lucky was the weakest puppy. He was so tiny that Clanay initially didn’t think he stood a chance of survival.
However, she decided to give him a fighting chance. In the end, Lucky was the only surviving puppy from the litter, as his stronger siblings couldn’t make it.
After his siblings had not survived, Clanay made it her mission to ensure Lucky wouldn’t become another victim of a tragic breeding history.
Little Fighter on Four Paws
Fortunately, Lucky had no intention of giving up either. Although he initially struggled to feed from a bottle, he had the will to take in nourishment.
After about a week, it seemed that Lucky had overcome the worst of it.
Two weeks in, it was clear: Lucky had made it! The little tyke could stand, take his first steps, and open his eyes.
In the following weeks, he continued to grow and even started playing with his squeaky toys.
One Handicap Remains
Sadly, Lucky, the little albino, is completely blind, and one of his eyes had to be surgically removed.
Nevertheless, the now 8-year-old dog enjoys a happy dog life and even has a sibling, Mia.
