The LSU Tiger Girls dance team from Louisiana State University has taken the internet by storm with their incredible performance of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” at the “Super Bowl of Dance.”
This wasn’t just any performance; it marked a historic moment as they secured their fourth title at the Universal Dance Association Hip Hop Competition!
The exciting event took place in Orlando, Florida, in 2024, and the Tiger Girls delivered a breathtaking tribute to the King of Pop. They mixed traditional dance moves with fresh, modern spins on Michael Jackson’s legendary choreography, creating a show that was both nostalgic and innovative.
Dressed to Impress
The Tiger Girls took the stage dressed in stunning white satin suits, sparkling ties, classic fedoras, and stylish Nike sneakers.

She said, “When the choreographers, Carsen Lowe and Sammy McFadden, suggested the Jackson song, I didn’t hesitate. It’s a classic!” She also noted that the “team is obsessed with Michael Jackson,” which made this tribute even more special.

In an Instagram post celebrating their championship-winning performance, choreographers Lowe and McFadden expressed their thoughts: “To be faced with the challenge to take on an icon such as Michael and bring his essence and star power into the present day is hands down the most difficult path we could have picked.”
They continued, “But with the village that is this team, the choreographers, consultants, and coaches, we know we have no choice but to aim for the highest form of excellence.”
