Michael and his dog Sox are inseparable. They share everything, including their hobby of motorcycle riding. Their world is whole and happy. They fulfill their big dream of touring the USA.
But one day, their beautiful world collapses. Will they be able to find their happiness again and continue their tour?
A motorcycling dog and a big dream
The story begins ten years ago when Sox is still a young dog. Michael can’t afford a car, but he can afford a motorcycle. Because they want to explore the USA together, Michael teaches Sox to ride with him on the motorcycle.
Soon, Sox sits like a pro on the motorcycle. He sits behind Michael, holding onto his shoulders with his front paws. Sox even has his own helmet.
They set a goal to ride motorcycles together forever and, in doing so, visit all 50 mainland states and all 154 national parks.
But fate has other plans
Michael and Sox enjoy their freedom and beautiful life together for ten years. They are about to embark on the 50th state: Alaska.
However, Michael also has a dangerous job – he is a skydiver. One day, he has a serious accident. He survives but is confined to bed afterward. Michael has ten broken bones, and his back is broken in four places.
It is uncertain whether he will be able to walk again, let alone continue riding motorcycles with Sox. He even has to sell the motorcycle to pay the hospital bills.
Sox sticks by his best friend
In this difficult time, it is Sox who builds up Michael and prevents him from falling into depression. Sox takes care of Michael and urges him to get better.
So Michael gets up and trains every day, encouraged by his best friend Sox.
Successfully: After a few months, Michael is fit enough to ride a motorcycle again.
Breathing a sigh of relief at the big goal
Michael and Sox feel like they can finally breathe again as they travel to Alaska. Instead of riding there as originally planned, they fly by plane. Upon arrival in Alaska, Michael rents a motorcycle.
Pure joy courses through them as they mount the motorcycle and let the wind blow through their noses, in the middle of the picturesque landscape of Alaska.
In the last of the 154 national parks, they enjoy their time even more, now knowing how precious it is.
