Welsh Corgis are cheerful little fellows who explore their surroundings with curiosity and attentiveness. However, these traits can sometimes come with risks.
Not everywhere a curious Corgi sticks its head in guarantees an easy way out. This is the predicament the furry friend in this video found itself in.
On the Stairs
The Corgi must have been going up or down the stairs and thought to itself:
“Let’s see if my head can fit through these bars under the staircase railing.”
The good news: Yes, it can fit, barely. The bad news: Now the dog’s head is stuck. Luckily, the curious Corgi isn’t home alone.
But even its owner can’t manage to free the dog herself. So she makes the call for help – reportedly the first time in her life.
Teamwork
A whole team arrives to rescue the little dog from its precarious situation. If nothing else works, they’d have to cut the staircase railing.
After all, the furry friend can’t stay stuck there forever. Fortunately, no saw is needed.
The three helpers hold the Corgi horizontally and push it as far down as they can. It seems the spacing between the bars is a bit wider here.
Then they twist the head slightly – and the Corgi is free. Even though we can’t see her, we hear the owner let out a small cheer.
Of course, she is relieved that her little dog came out of this dangerous situation unharmed. The rescue operation doesn’t appear to have caused any injuries.
An Important Lesson
This video provides an important lesson for dog owners.
Stair railings, gates, and similar structures should always be designed in a way that a dog can either fully pass through or not at all.
Gaps that are approximately the same size as a dog’s head pose a constant risk that can easily be mitigated with a bit of foresight.
