A shelter is not a suitable long-term home for any dog. Not least because it overwhelms them emotionally.
It’s loud, chaotic, and there’s constant barking from one dog or several. Comfort is also not at its best here.
For a dog used to living in a house, it’s essentially hell on earth.
Dog gets abandoned
Carson, an adorable and good-natured Pitbull, was abandoned at a shelter by his owners because they had had enough of him, as reported by The Dodo.
He suffered from various allergies that led to skin problems, but that should definitely not have been a reason to kick him out of the house.
Naturally, this left a mark on Carson. He had lost all zest for life, and his trust in people had plummeted to almost zero.
Caregiver takes Carson home
Lauren, a volunteer at Carson’s shelter, decided to take the Pitbull home with her.
She knew that only when he felt safe and secure would he be able to return to his old self.
In fact, the two of them were the perfect match from the beginning. Wherever Lauren went, Carson was never far away.
That’s why Lauren decided to officially adopt Carson, and everyone was happy with this decision, especially Carson.
The two are inseparable and love nothing more than cuddling on the couch together.
But going for runs and walks together is also among their favorite activities.
From a timid dog to a confident dog
It’s heartwarming to see how much Carson has blossomed and how happy he is under Lauren’s care.
We wish for many more people like Lauren who would do everything to provide a loving home and security to an animal.
