There they stand, the two dogs, surveying the situation. Their beloved toy has fallen into the pool and now lies more than a meter deep in the water.
What a catastrophe!
Two very different dogs
As similar as the two dogs look, their reactions are quite different. One seems to be contemplating.
He just stands there, staring at the pacifier-shaped toy, apparently having no clue about what to do.
Quite the opposite is the second dog. He runs back and forth along the pool’s edge, howling in desperation. Meanwhile, his counterpart watches him with interest.
A daring leap
There is only one way to retrieve the toy from the pool.
One of them must go into the water, and it’s clear that the nervous and lively dog is up for the task.
He doesn’t seem to be very eager, though. It takes him a few seconds to gather all his courage for the inevitable jump.
Then, he takes off from the ground and lands with a loud splash in the water.
Without further thought or taking another breath, the brave fellow dives down to his beloved toy. In no time, he grabs it with his teeth and resurfaces.
A complete success
At the same moment, the second dog finally springs into action.
He immediately heads to the ladder in the pool, as that’s the only spot where his buddy can climb out. Here, he awaits his swimming friend, and as soon as the toy is within reach, he takes it from him. The swimmer climbs the ladder.
He does it with surprising skill, as if it were one of his easiest exercises. Soon, he has dry ground under his paws again.
He gives himself a good shake, and then the two happily run away.
