Right from the first glance at the dog with a biting inclination, it’s clear that deep down, she is a profoundly frightened being.
Despite this, the animal rescue organization where the dog lives cannot place her for adoption as she is.
The little one needs a loving hand to care for her, and her new foster mom is just the right person for the job.
Using Treats and Patience to Ease Her Out of the Crate
When she arrives at her new temporary home, the dog simply remains in her transport crate.
The woman starts by offering her treats to build trust while talking to the frightened being in a gentle voice.
This works well. In the next step, the woman uses treats to pet her.
A short time later, the dog allows herself to be petted directly by hand, and then she cautiously ventures out of the transport crate. The first ice is broken.
The Transformation
Now the transformation continues rapidly. The foster mom can quickly take her new charge for walks.
After one of these short walks, the woman sits on the floor next to the dog, and the little one approaches and leans against her foster mom.
By the third day, trust has been built up to the point where the woman can trim the dog’s claws and carry her. After ten days, there’s already eager cuddling.
The New Home
Coincidentally, at this very time, someone is looking for a new dog. It’s the mother of an employee of the rescue organization where the dog lived for some time.
We see the furry friend curiously exploring her new home. She immediately allows her new owner and her son to pet her.
It looks like the start of a wonderful life for the little one.
“She’s so sweet! She just needed a loving, patient person. Well done!”
Jennifer Q perfectly summarizes the dog’s transformation in the comments.
