Ella Bleu Travolta is not just the daughter of famous actors John Travolta and the late Kelly Preston; she’s also making a name for herself in Hollywood and the wellness world. Born on April 3, 2000, in California, Ella’s life has been filled with special moments and challenges that have shaped who she is today.
The day Ella was born was truly magical. Her mother, Kelly Preston, shared a beautiful memory of that moment. “John put his hands under her arms while she was still halfway out, and I put my hand on his, and we pulled her out together and laid her on my chest,” Kelly recalled in an interview with Redbook.

Ella is a proud big sister, too! She is the second child in the Travolta family, following her older brother Jett, who was born in April 1992. Kelly described Ella’s excitement when she found out she was going to be a big sister again: “You would have thought Ella was having Benjamin herself because of her enthusiasm about his arrival — she was elated, to say the least. When she first saw him, she fell in love.”
Their bond is strong, and every year, Ella celebrates Benjamin’s birthday with heartfelt messages on social media.
From a young age, Ella loved performing. In their family home in Maine, they created a small stage with a red curtain where Ella and her friends would put on shows. They performed everything from superhero skits to Christmas plays, even dressing up as the ‘Housewives of Maine’ one year!
“Since I was very little, I’ve loved performing, singing, dancing, and putting on shows at home for my family and friends,” Ella shared with People.
Ella made her film debut at just 9 years old in the movie Old Dogs, acting alongside her parents and the legendary Robin Williams. “It was awesome to act with my parents in my first movie; it made it a lot easier,” she told Celebrity Pulse.
Ten years later, she starred alongside her dad again in the drama The Poison Rose. It was a special moment for both of them, and they enjoyed working together on set.
As of 2024, Ella has built an impressive career in acting, modeling, and music. But her journey took a significant turn in 2022 when she decided to adopt a vegan lifestyle. This decision was not just about health; it was about something much bigger.
Ella was inspired by one of her closest friends to try a vegan diet for two weeks, and the results were amazing. “It has really been a game-changer in how I feel — overall I have more energy, and I feel great,” she told Greenmatters.com.
Ella’s choice to go vegan was also influenced by her desire to help the planet. She watched several documentaries that opened her eyes to the environmental benefits of a plant-based diet.
She learned that reducing animal products can lower our carbon footprint, save water, and help clean the air. “I realized how my choices were directly contributing to the well-being of the Earth,” she said, realizing the impact she could have.
For breakfast, Ella enjoys simple yet delicious meals. One of her favorites is toast with crunchy peanut butter, a drizzle of agave, and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice. This tasty dish keeps her energized throughout the morning and is a perfect blend of sweetness and spice.
While Ella has embraced a plant-based lifestyle, her father, John Travolta, hasn’t fully joined her yet. “For me, I never try to force or convince someone to go plant-based. I believe it should always be your decision,” she explained.
“But I’m definitely always sharing with others the benefits I’ve experienced while being plant-based.” Ella encourages her friends and family to try vegan options, and often they end up loving them!
In her free time, Ella loves to bake and experiment with new recipes. In July 2023, she launched her own food-inspired Instagram account, @ellableubakes, where she shares her favorite recipes and explores plant-based cafes and restaurants around the world.
One of her baking challenges included recreating the famous coconut bundt cake that Tom Cruise is known for gifting to his celebrity friends during the holidays. The result? A delicious hit! “It’s delicious, oh my goodness,” John Travolta said in an Instagram video, while Benjamin showed off his nearly empty plate, clearly enjoying every bite.
Ella’s go-to recipe is a “delicious” vegan banana bread, which she proudly claims as her specialty. “That’s sort of my specialty,” she told People during a photoshoot. She also enjoys sipping on a morning matcha with dairy-free milk.
When dining out, one of her favorite restaurants is PLANTA, an innovative plant-based eatery that offers dishes inspired by cuisines from around the globe.
