Jennifer Lopez’s life, both personal and professional, has been a hot topic in the media lately. Since early May, she’s been under a microscope, and the gossip hasn’t stopped.
As more and more celebrities start sharing their opinions on Lopez, things are heating up. One of the latest to speak out is Meghan McCain. Read on to find out what she had to say.
Meghan McCain Speaks Her Mind
Meghan McCain, a conservative commentator and former co-host of The View, recently shared her thoughts on Jennifer Lopez. McCain didn’t shy away from addressing all the negative attention Lopez has been getting recently, especially with rumors flying about her and Ben Affleck’s marriage.
“I feel bad because it feels like we’re bullying J.Lo, and I don’t want to add to it,” McCain said during an episode of her podcast, Citizen McCain. However, despite her sympathy, she didn’t hold back from sharing her own experience with Lopez, describing her as “a very unpleasant person.”
Not So Friendly
McCain, who is 39, looked back on her interactions with Lopez during the singer’s guest appearances on The View. According to McCain, Lopez, now 54, wasn’t the friendliest person. She even compared Lopez to other celebrities.
“Even someone like Kim Kardashian was incredibly nice. If you’re on a show for just a 10-minute segment… fake it for 10 minutes,” McCain remarked, hinting that Lopez wasn’t able to do that.
Adding to the tension, McCain shared how Lopez and her legal team had one of her TikTok videos removed. The video, which briefly went viral in April, was about McCain’s less-than-pleasant experience with Lopez. “They took it down, claiming it violated terms of service for bullying… allegedly!” McCain exclaimed on her podcast, clearly still irritated by the incident.
The Viral Video
In that now-removed TikTok, McCain told another story about Lopez, explaining that the singer had been a guest on The View several times. “She’s not my favorite,” McCain bluntly admitted.
She went on to describe how Lopez always traveled with a large entourage. “Some of the biggest stars I’ve met have one publicist,” McCain said. “Lopez has more people with her than the president. I’m not joking.”
One of the more bizarre moments McCain shared was about a particular Lopez employee. She recalled seeing someone on Lopez’s staff whose sole job was to hold a mirror with lights while Lopez got touched up backstage. “I remember thinking, ‘That poor guy. What a weird job. He probably had dreams of being an artist or musician, and now he just holds J.Lo’s light,’” McCain mused.
More Rumors Stirring
The rumors surrounding Lopez and Affleck haven’t slowed down. Recently, the couple quietly listed their $60.8 million Beverly Hills home for sale, just a year after buying it in May 2023. This only fueled speculation that their marriage might be in trouble.
Adding to the fire, a source had said in May that Lopez and Affleck were “taking time apart.” Another insider mentioned the couple was “having some issues.”
Lopez and Affleck’s relationship has been a rollercoaster. The two first got together over 20 years ago, then split up, only to reunite in 2021. They tied the knot in a small, private ceremony in Las Vegas with just their children. A larger wedding followed later in Georgia.
Despite the swirling rumors, the couple has remained quiet. In fact, they recently attended Ben’s daughter Violet’s high school graduation together, showing a united front. But with their house now on the market, the public continues to wonder if this might be the beginning of the end for Lopez and Affleck.
