Gordon Ramsay, the fiery English chef known worldwide for his culinary expertise, recently opened up about his experience of becoming a father for the sixth time. Despite his decades-long career in the spotlight, it seems Ramsay’s newest role as a dad continues to bring him joy and surprises.
Last weekend, Ramsay, 57, attended the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas and couldn’t help but share his excitement about the newest addition to his family—a baby boy named Jesse James.
Talking about being a father again at his age, Ramsay humorously said, “It’s extraordinary—just blessed. And I’m pretty sure I’ll be the oldest dad at the school drop-off, so I’ll be there with my spectacles and a cap!”
Earlier this month, Ramsay and his wife, Tana, welcomed little Jesse James Ramsay into the world, weighing in at a healthy seven pounds and ten ounces. Ramsay proudly posted photos of his new son on social media with the caption, “3 boys, 3 girls… done.” It was clear that the Ramsay family, often referred to as the “Ramsay brigade,” was overjoyed with the arrival of their newest member.
Tana also shared her happiness online, writing, “It’s been a nerve-wracking nine months, but we’ve made it, and we have been blessed with this little bundle. We adore you so much, Jesse James Ramsay.”
The couple’s journey to completing their family hasn’t been without heartache. In 2016, they tragically lost their sixth child when Tana miscarried at five months. At the time, Gordon shared his grief with the public, thanking them for their support. “We had a devastating weekend as Tana sadly miscarried our son at five months,” he wrote.
Four years later, Tana spoke about her experience in a 2020 interview, inspired by Chrissy Teigen’s openness about her own miscarriage. Tana praised Chrissy, saying, “I found it very emotional, and I thought she was amazing. Reading her story, so much of it felt like mine.”
Reflecting on her own loss, Tana revealed how difficult it was when people didn’t acknowledge what had happened. “It was really hard when people would talk to me and not bring it up, as if it never happened,” she said. “All I wanted to do was talk about it with friends, family, and anyone who asked. It’s a hard experience—you go from having a baby kicking inside of you to suddenly it’s not there.”
She also spoke about how supportive Gordon had been throughout the ordeal. “Gordon was amazing. He’s always talked about everything and never made me feel like we shouldn’t talk about it,” Tana shared.
Gordon later opened up about the loss of their son, whom they had named Rocky, in a September 2023 interview. He described the experience as “very difficult” and “life-changing,” explaining how one day they were celebrating the baby’s health, and the next day, they were faced with the devastating news of the miscarriage.
“It all happened in one day,” Ramsay said, adding that the tragedy brought their family even closer together.
Despite the heartbreak, the Ramsays welcomed their fifth child, Oscar, in 2019, and now, with the arrival of Jesse James in 2023, they’ve declared their family complete!
