Halloween show at dog competition: 11-year-old border collie becomes a star with this performance

In Birmingham, UK, the annual Crufts takes place, which is the world’s largest dog show. There are various competitions where dogs can perform.

One of these performances is called “Freestyle,” where dogs and their owners put on a show. One couple participating in this competition is Desiree and Tess.

Performance in Halloween Style

At eleven years old, Tess is older than most participating dogs. However, this doesn’t stop her from delivering an amazing performance with Desiree.

The pair presents a dance to the orchestral piece “Danse Macabre” by Camille Saint-Saëns. For the Halloween theme, they include a skeleton, a tombstone, and a death shroud.

Desiree and Tess tell a story with their dance. With moments of both distance and closeness, Tess performs precise, well-planned figures.

Even when they momentarily break eye contact, the dog often still follows the music. Tess doesn’t miss her cues a single time.

Grand Finale and Applause

At the end of the performance, Tess stands with her back to Desiree, who lies beneath her death shroud. Tess rears up and then falls backward.

The finale is a success, and the audience applauds enthusiastically. The judges give them high marks, and Tess takes fourth place in the competition.

Considering Tess’s age, this performance is commendable. The viewers of the video are also impressed with their discipline and the performance.

“11 years old! Wonderful performance! I don’t see any jumps; the dog’s restrictions are followed, yet very entertaining! Congratulations!”
