Heartlessly Abandoned: Dog Waits for His Family for Days, but Someone Else Comes to Pick Him Up

When something significant changes in the lives of people, it’s not easy for their pets either.

This was the case for a family in Southern California who received an eviction notice. They moved to another apartment, forgetting someone behind…

He Can’t Make Sense of It

A move, which not only involves leaving the familiar surroundings but also logically means confronting an entirely new area, is typically extremely stressful for animals. What’s even worse, however, is when the pet is simply left behind.

“They just drove away and left him,”

says Suzette Hall, founder of Logan’s Legacy Dog Rescue.

“The poor guy, of course, waits for his people to come back,”

she adds.

Fritter, as they later name the dog, has absolutely no idea where his family went.

Of course, he can’t go back into the house because the family left it for good. So, he curls up in empty boxes scattered in the yard.

Sometimes he runs onto the street, looking at passing cars, but his family is nowhere to be found.

Fortunately, the neighbors take care of the dog, providing him with water and some food.

However, when they learn that the city plans to demolish the house, they immediately turn to Logan’s Legacy for help.

Suzette Hall sets up a humane trap with some delicious treats and waits for Fritter to go inside.

But he’s wary of the whole thing… It’s no wonder he’s totally fearful and confused.

Suzette Hall speaks gently to the dog during the ride to Camino Pet Hospital. Amazingly, after they arrive, she can even hug him.

Now, she can hand her charge over to the vet team.

After a bath and some medication, Fritter’s behavior completely changes. He’s an absolutely warm and loving dog who now awaits a caring adoptive family.

One thing is clear: He will never have to sleep alone in moving boxes again.
