Hoss was abandoned on the streets of Tulsa, Oklahoma, suffering from a damaged leg and a blind eye. Despite being incredibly thin and in pain, he had to fend for himself until someone alerted Route 66 Pet Rescue, who promptly rushed to his aid.
In his loving foster home, Hoss quickly adapted and found comfort. He enjoys resting in cozy beds and eagerly consumes his regular meals. House-trained and familiar with basic commands, it’s evident that he previously lived in a home environment before being abandoned.
“He knows he is safe and he is enjoying every minute until he is medically released so he can look for a forever home,” expressed Route 66 Pet Rescue.
Addressing Long-Overdue Medical Needs
While Hoss’s eye may not be repairable, fortunately, it doesn’t seem to bother him. After a few days, he underwent a procedure to address his back leg, granting him improved functionality. Although he may have a slight limp, he will be better equipped to use his back leg effectively after recovery. With time, he’ll be ready to find the forever home he deserves.
Thanks to donations from the GOODS Program, dogs like Hoss can receive the necessary medical care. These donations provide essential supplies, including food, enabling rescues to allocate more funds for veterinary care.
