You’re Not Alone: A Story to Make You Laugh
Finding reasons to laugh every day can feel tough for many people, but it’s actually really important. We all know that laughter brightens our mood, and science proves it! Laughter is like magic medicine that helps us feel better, both physically and mentally. That’s why so many of us try to squeeze in some giggles every day.
So, if you haven’t laughed yet today, here’s your reminder to dive into something funny! Get ready for a joke that might be new to you, just like it was to me. I hope it brings a big smile to your face!
Here’s how the joke goes:
One day, a little girl answers the phone.
“Hello?” she says.
“Hi honey. This is Daddy. Is Mommy near the phone?” Daddy asks.
“No, Daddy. She’s upstairs in the bedroom with Uncle Paul,” the girl replies innocently.
Daddy’s heart skips a beat. After a quick pause, he says, “But honey, you don’t have an Uncle Paul.”
“Oh yes, I do! He’s upstairs in the room with Mommy right now!” she insists.
Daddy takes a deep breath. “Uh, okay then. Here’s what I need you to do: Put the phone down on the table, run upstairs, knock on the bedroom door, and shout to Mommy that Daddy’s car just pulled into the driveway.”
“Okay, Daddy! Just a minute!” she says and dashes off. A few minutes later, she comes back to the phone, sounding a bit breathless. “I did it, Daddy!”
“And what happened, honey?” he asks, curiosity bubbling.
“Well,” she starts, “Mommy got all scared, jumped out of bed with no clothes on, and ran around screaming! Then she tripped over the rug, hit her head on the dresser, and now she isn’t moving at all!”
“Oh my God!!! What about Uncle Paul?” Daddy shouts, panic rising in his voice.
“He jumped out of bed with no clothes on, too! He was super scared and jumped out the back window into the swimming pool. But I guess he didn’t know that you took out the water last week to clean it! He hit the bottom of the pool, and I think he’s dead,” she replies, sounding oddly calm.
Long Pause
Finally, Daddy asks, “Swimming pool? … Is this 486-5731?”
We hope this funny story gave you a little break from the tough news happening all around us. Laughter really does help us escape for a moment!
