Animal lover Taylor comes across a shocking Facebook post one day: An old lady dog must be gone by Sunday, as stated in the post.
Taylor cannot believe that someone could treat their dog like this. On the spur of the moment, she makes a decision and decides to take action.
Maple is offered for free because she is too old
The post states that the old dog Maple must be gone by Sunday. Since no one is interested in her, she is offered for free.
Taylor and her boyfriend are not bothered that Maple is a senior. Maple’s condition, which they notice upon their arrival, does not deter them either.
The poor old Beagle dog smells very unpleasant, has long claws, and looks overall neglected. It is evident that she has not had a good life so far.
But that is about to change. Taylor and her boyfriend take the pitiable creature home with them.
Maple is completely exhausted. She immediately settles into the prepared dog bed, curls up, and sleeps for days.
But not only is the dog in poor physical condition, but she is also emotionally damaged. The senior dog appears shy and frightened.
On her golden years, Maple is finally happy
Taylor and her boyfriend strive to nurse Maple back to health and, with a lot of love, help her overcome her shyness. They receive support from their dog Cooper, whom they rescued years ago.
Cooper and the two animal-loving people manage to make Maple blossom completely in a short time. The two dogs become best friends right away.
The initially timid Maple develops into a curious, confident senior who enjoys her beautiful new life to the fullest. Now, Maple has been with her family for over a year and has fully recovered.
Taylor says: “She started as this very, very closed-off and very shy dog, and now she wants to explore everything. I think the biggest thing was just being so loving to her and giving her all the love, all the treats, all the belly rubs.”
Maple is overjoyed that she has found a loving home in her old age. Taylor and her boyfriend have become Maple’s heroes.
The two animal lovers know: Every dog deserves a chance, no matter how old they are and in what condition they find themselves.
