We often think we know our spouses inside and out, but sometimes there are moments that surprise us. One woman had a small secret she kept from her husband, and it turned into quite a story.
During dinner at a restaurant, her phone’s battery was running low, so she turned it off to save power. Later, as they were driving home, she realized she couldn’t find her phone. Panic set in as she searched her suitcase and the car but found nothing. Feeling a wave of anxiety, she convinced her husband to drive back to the restaurant, even though it meant an extra hour of driving.
When they arrived back, the restaurant manager joined the search. Even though her husband was frustrated, they looked everywhere, checking under tables and in corners. Just as the search was growing desperate, she felt something in her jacket pocket. To her shock, her phone had been there all along.
Embarrassed by her mistake and not wanting to admit it, she decided to keep it a secret. She told her husband, “I didn’t want to admit it.” Instead, she pretended to use the restroom and came back with a new story. She claimed, “It was on the toilet tank.”
Her husband still has no idea that she had her phone with her the entire time. To avoid further embarrassment, she chose to keep the truth hidden.
