Meet Lana, a happy puppy who, at just 8 months old, knows the importance of kindness.

Lana was rescued from the streets of Brazil at a young age along with her siblings and was soon adopted into the loving home of Suelen Schaumloeffel.

Although she has a loving, safe and comfortable home, Lana hasn’t forgotten what it’s like for the pups who unfortunately don’t have one.
On a cold winter’s day, Schaumloeffel bought Lana a thick blanket to keep her warm in her kennel outside the house.

It wasn’t until the next morning that she realized what a wonderful act of kindness Lana had performed. She had sacrificed her own well-being for a stray puppy on the other side of the fence.

Lana had dragged her blanket outside so she could share it with a stray dog on a cold winter’s night.

Apparently, Schaumloeffel had seen the stray near her house the day before, but he ran away when she tried to check him for a dog tag.

Although he didn’t seem to run away from Lana, “I thought, ‘How nice what she did for her friend,'” Schaumloeffel told The Dodo.

“My best four-legged friend reminded me of something so important: Generosity!”

Although they are unable to approach the stray, they have been leaving it food and water ever since, just as Lana would if she could.

“She’s the nicest little dog I’ve ever met. We sometimes forget what a difference we can make in someone’s life. She reminded me of that.”
