At the star-studded New York City premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds made a heartwarming announcement about his family, sharing the name of his youngest child with Blake Lively. The crowd was buzzing with excitement, but Ryan made sure to acknowledge the most important people in his life.

“I want to start by saying thank you to my wife, Blake, who is here,” he began, turning his attention to the audience. “I also want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, and Olin, who are here tonight. I hope that if I’m lucky, the most traumatic thing that ever happens in your wondrous life is watching the contents of this movie,” he joked, making everyone laugh.

He paused, glancing warmly at his family. “I love that my entire family is here.”

Ryan, 47, and Blake, 36, have built a beautiful family together. Their daughters, James (9), Inez (7), and Betty (4), had welcomed a new sibling just earlier that year. Last February, Blake gave birth to their fourth child, only five months after confirming she was expecting. This had been big news for their fans, who always admired their close-knit family.

Ryan had already expressed his joy about expanding their family during an appearance on CNBC’s Power Lunch back on February 13, 2023. “We’re very excited,” he said, grinning. “Look, we wouldn’t do this four times if we didn’t love it.” His sense of humor was as sharp as ever, but there was no denying the love he had for his growing family.

He went on to give an update about how everyone was doing. “Everybody’s doing great. Everybody’s actually doing fantastic,” he shared. “If we hadn’t figured it out by now, I think we’d be in deep, deep trouble.” This was classic Ryan—mixing humor with sincerity.

At the time, Ryan hadn’t shared their newest baby’s name or even their gender. He and Blake had always preferred to keep things a bit of a mystery, waiting until the baby was born to learn the sex.

“We never find out until the baby is born,” Ryan had revealed during an interview with Today. He then added, “I know girls. So, I’m kind of hoping for that, but I’m ready for whatever happens.” It was clear he was excited, no matter what.
