Pet Project for Pets in Wilton Manors, FL, actively contributes to helping animals in need, including the collection of dog food for various animal organizations. The GOODS Program plays a pivotal role in providing them with food donations, enabling them to extend assistance to even more homeless pets.
Among the beneficiaries of these generous donations is Augie, a dog taken in by a rescue group. As the rescue had no available space, a Pet Project volunteer graciously fostered Augie for a temporary period. Throughout this time, Augie enjoyed an abundance of food and toys, all thanks to the benevolent donations.
Augie’s life took a positive turn when his foster mom quickly developed a deep connection with him and decided to make him a permanent part of the family. Despite being labeled a “foster fail,” adopting one’s foster dog is anything but a failure; it provides the dog with a loving and permanent home.
At around 7 or 8 years old, Augie exudes the same love and energy as a young dog, enjoying a wonderful life with his family. When he visits Pet Project, other volunteers spoil him with affection.
The donations from the GOODS Program empower Pet Project to supply more food, toys, and essential items to organizations in need. Shelters and rescues receiving these donations no longer bear the burden of food expenses, allowing them to redirect funds towards other critical areas of care, such as medical needs.
