With his gentle and slightly goofy nature, Mr. Pugsley is the favorite of all the staff at the Stray Rescue of St. Louis shelter.
Unfortunately, the friendly Pitbull has yet to find a forever home, while many of his canine friends have already been adopted.
That’s why he is the perfect candidate for the shelter’s new weekend program.
The Weekend Program
This weekend program aims to give dogs the opportunity to see something other than the familiar surroundings of the shelter for a few days.
People who want to have a dog around but can’t take on the responsibility 24/7 sign up as weekend foster parents.
The Bed

He has discovered something wonderful in the house: a cozy bed.
It’s probably the first human bed he has ever seen in his life. Little is known about Mr. Pugsley’s past before his time at the shelter. One day, he was sitting in a property’s driveway as if he had fallen from the sky. The homeowner became concerned and then entrusted the dog to Stray Rescue of St. Louis.
Twelve Hours of Cuddling

Hop! He’s already jumped up, curled up, and drifted off to dreamland. Shortly after, his weekend mom joins him.
“Mr. Pugsley and I cuddled for twelve hours straight last night,” the woman reports on her Facebook channel.
Mr. Pugsley Must Keep Waiting
For the dog, it’s simply a delight to finally enjoy some peace and quiet.
On the grounds of Stray Rescue of St. Louis, it’s usually quite loud like in any shelter. Nevertheless, after a few days, he has to go back.
All the staff hope that he will soon find the long-awaited forever home – naturally with a beautiful big bed.
