The new season of The Voice has arrived, and it’s already making waves! With fresh faces, big surprises, and a spectacular kick-off performance, this season promises to be unforgettable. The Voice Season 26 has introduced a lineup that no one saw coming—Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Gwen Stefani.
heir unique styles combined have brought a fresh energy to the show, which fans quickly picked up on. The excitement was evident from the moment the coaches stepped onto the stage for their opening performance.
On September 23, 2024, the official The Voice Instagram shared a snapshot of this powerhouse coaching team in action. Each coach brought their unique flair, and the chemistry was electric. “We’re here to bring something new,” Snoop had told fans ahead of the season. And bring it they did! In keeping with the show’s tradition, they kicked off the season with a classic song that perfectly highlighted each coach’s distinct style.
Choosing “Heartache Tonight” by The Eagles, a rock classic from the 1979 album The Long Run, the coaches showed the audience that they weren’t holding back. Snoop, dressed to impress in a shiny black suit, was the first to take the stage. He strolled in from the audience with his signature swagger, creating an atmosphere of excitement. When Michael Bublé joined, his suave black tux and silky vocals created a charming contrast, leaving the audience in awe.
Reba McEntire then added her country twist to the song’s chorus, giving it a soulful, down-to-earth touch. And, of course, Gwen Stefani didn’t disappoint, bringing her pop-star energy and charisma to the performance, making it a standout moment. As the song ended, the crowd was on their feet, cheering for what was clearly more than just an introduction; it was the beginning of an electrifying season.
Fans flooded social media, unable to contain their excitement. “Snoop is really holding his own. Wasn’t too sure about him being a judge, but I think he’s going to be great,” one fan wrote. Another commented, “I am SHOOKETH! They really got some excellent vocals out of Snoop.”
Many fans were especially surprised by Snoop’s unexpected singing abilities. “I didn’t know Snoop could sing?!!! I know him as a rapper,” a fan expressed. “Snoop has a great voice. Very smooth—just like him,” another added. Snoop’s look also caught attention, with one fan saying, “Love the jacket too. Everybody looked like they were having fun. Reba was serving vocals. This was her song choice. lol. Love it though.”
Snoop had been building up anticipation for his role as a coach for months. Just four months prior, he appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, sharing his excitement. “Well, if you know anything about me, you know I love all forms of music. So this is a great opportunity for me to show I really understand music and, you know, be a real coach,” he told Fallon.
Not only is Snoop bringing his signature style, but he’s also offering unique rewards to contestants. As a tribute to his music roots, he’s giving Death Row Records chains, a nod to the hip-hop label he owns, to top-performing artists on his team. One lucky contestant, Jake Tankersley, got a chance at winning one after delivering an impressive rendition of “Something in the Orange” by Zach Bryan.
It’s clear this season of The Voice will be one of the most talked-about yet. With Snoop’s easygoing charm, unexpected vocal skills, and creative coaching methods, fans are in for a wild ride!
