I remember when McDonald’s and Burger King were super busy because everyone was trying to save money due to job losses. The lines were long, and these places were swamped with orders. To handle this, McDonald’s decided to simplify their menu, which meant cutting back on some options.
One of the items they dropped was the Premium McWrap, which upset a lot of people. Employees said it was tough to make and really slowed things down.
Stephen Patula, whose family owns a McDonald’s, explained this in a viral TikTok video. He’s known for sharing McDonald’s secrets on TikTok. In the video, he said, “When COVID hit, McDonald’s made their menu simpler to ease our workload.
That meant getting rid of the really complex items like those fancy wraps. They were delicious but took too much effort to whip up.”
The video went viral, and tons of people started commenting, asking for the wraps to come back. This caught Stephen by surprise; he hadn’t expected such a strong desire for the wraps he said were so hard to make.
He clarified in the comments, “I’m talking about the big McWrap, not the smaller versions. It wasn’t exactly difficult, just time-consuming to fit everything perfectly into that small box.”
People really missed those wraps. One TikTok user said, “I really wish they still had the crispy chicken ranch snack wrap.”
Another was puzzled, “Really? The wraps were hard to make? They seem just like burgers but with a tortilla instead of a bun.”
And someone who used to work there chimed in, “Yeah, that’s right, but those wraps were really tasty. I miss them.”
The conversation even led to some quirky customer questions like, “How can I order a quarter pounder without cheese quickly? Every time I ask for that at the drive-thru, it confuses everyone.”
Others offered a workaround, suggesting, “Just order a ‘quarter hamburger,’ that’s what we do. It’s a different option on our menu screens.”
It was fascinating to see how a simple change in the menu sparked such an engaging conversation among fans!
