Willie Nelson has canceled another tour appearance, and this time there’s no return date.
On Wednesday, just hours before his show in Virginia Beach, a note was shared on Nelson’s social media pages. The note informed fans that the 91-year-old singer would not be performing as planned.
This announcement came only a few days after Nelson canceled his tour opener in Georgia because he was “not feeling well.”
The bad news first hit on June 21, when Nelson canceled his first scheduled performance of his Outlaw Music Festival Tour.
“We regret to inform you that Willie Nelson is not feeling well and, per doctor’s orders, has been advised to rest for the next four days,” a statement on social media said. “
He is expected to make a quick recovery and join the Outlaw Music Festival tour next week.”
But less than a week later, Nelson announced another cancellation.
“Willie Nelson will not be performing at tonight’s show in Virginia Beach. We expect Willie to return to the tour shortly.”
Even though Nelson couldn’t perform, fans could still enjoy performances by Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, and Celisse. Nelson’s son, Lukas Nelson, and his band were also set to play their own set, including some of Willie’s classics.
As of June 27, Nelson’s website still shows his next scheduled tour date in Syracuse, NY on June 28. However, with his return date uncertain, it’s unclear if Nelson will be able to perform.
Whatever is keeping Willie Nelson from performing, we hope he feels better very soon.
