But a heart-wrenching note, written by a child, reveals the entire drama:
„Hello, please adopt me: Max. Leaving my dog here hurts a lot, but I made the decision because my relatives mistreated him, and it was painful to see him in that situation. So, if you are reading this and are moved, please adopt him and take care of him. If not, please leave the letter here so that someone else can read it and adopt him. Thank you.”
A spark of hope in the darkness
Under Goldberg’s patient and loving care, she manages to cut the chain and calm Max down.
A glimmer of hope emerges as he starts to open up. Through loving touches and gentle approaches, the puppy begins to trust.
His rescuers give him the name Boston, so nothing reminds him of his painful past.

‘He’s sweet, very affectionate, he loves to give kisses, and play with the ball the vet gave him,’
