Woman Visits Her Boyfriend to Surprise Him, Wife She Never Knew about Opens the Door – Story of the Day

Lisa wanted to surprise her boyfriend, Max, but instead, she ended up at the doorstep of his wife, Kate. What started as shock quickly turned into an unlikely friendship, as the two women joined forces to take down Max. But as their plan to get revenge grew, Lisa found herself trapped in another complicated web of lies and deceit.

It was a warm evening, and the sun was setting behind the tall buildings of the city. Lisa, a 28-year-old lawyer with a bright future, walked out of her office. There, by his car, stood Max, her fiancé, holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

“These are for you,” Max said with a big smile, handing her the colorful blooms.

Lisa’s eyes sparkled. “Thank you! They’re gorgeous.”

They got into the car, the city lights starting to glow around them. Max looked at her, full of pride and love. “Let me see the engagement ring again,” he said playfully. “I want to see how perfect it looks on you.”

Lisa held out her hand, but Max’s eyes caught sight of another ring on her finger — an antique, delicate piece.

“What’s this ring?” Max asked, curious.

“It’s a family heirloom,” Lisa said softly.

Max studied the ring. “Looks very expensive.”

Lisa smiled with pride. “It’s priceless to me — more than money. It’s a memory.”

Then, Max’s tone changed. He shared a secret he’d been hiding: his father was sick and needed expensive surgery, but Max’s money was tied up in a startup business. He didn’t have enough cash to pay for the operation.

“How much do you need? Maybe I can help,” Lisa offered.

Max hesitated. “Fifty thousand dollars, everything included.”

Lisa bit her lip, nervous. “I… I don’t have that kind of money right now.”

“But weren’t you saving for a house?” Max pressed gently. “I’ll pay you back once I get the money from the startup.”

Lisa sighed, unsure. “I’ll think about it. Maybe there’s a way to find the money.”

Max smiled gratefully.

Suddenly, Max’s phone rang. He answered quickly, then looked worried.

“It’s my housekeeper. There’s a flood in the basement,” he said.

“I’m sorry, Lisa, but I have to go. I won’t make dinner with your parents tonight.”

Lisa felt disappointed but tried to be understanding. “I get it. Maybe tomorrow?”

Max shook his head. “Tomorrow won’t work either. This will take a while.”

The car drove on, and Lisa’s mind spun with worry. She cared about Max’s father, but the sudden excuses felt strange.

When the car stopped at a red light, Lisa suddenly spoke up. “I think I’ll get out here.”

Max was surprised. “What? Why?”

“I need to think,” she said firmly. She stepped into the busy street and walked away.

Lisa’s feet carried her to her parents’ house, where she told them everything—the flowers, the money, the flood, and her doubts.

Her father, Tom, a retired police officer, nodded thoughtfully. “Why don’t you surprise Max? Sometimes couples fight, but a visit might clear things up.”

Lisa hesitated. “I don’t even know where he lives.”

“Leave that to me,” Tom said with a confident smile.

Using his old contacts, Tom soon handed Lisa a piece of paper with Max’s address.

Heart pounding, Lisa walked to the house and rang the bell.

A woman opened the door.

“You must be the housekeeper? Is Max home?” Lisa asked.

The woman looked at her sharply. “I’m Kate — Max’s wife. And you are?”

Lisa froze. “I’m Lisa… his fiancée.”

Kate’s eyes narrowed. “Fiancée? That’s a joke, right? He’s married!” She raised her hand, showing a wedding ring.

Lisa showed her engagement ring, speechless. “He never told me. I didn’t know.”

Kate’s anger exploded. “You seduced my husband! Get out, and never come near him again!”

Kate began throwing objects at Lisa before slamming the door.

Outside, Lisa’s tears fell freely.

Minutes later, Kate returned, this time calmer, carrying a bottle of wine.

“I’m sorry for what I did,” Kate said quietly. “This jerk cheated on both of us.”

The two women sat in silence, sharing the wine.

Lisa explained the money Max had asked for.

Kate’s face fell. “His father died five years ago.”

Lisa gasped. “He lied to me.”

Kate’s voice hardened. “It’s time we face him together.”

Kate called Max. He claimed he was at his office and couldn’t come home because of work.

Lisa realized the flood story was a lie.

Together, Kate and Lisa went to Max’s office.

Though Max wasn’t there, his security guard recognized Kate and let them in.

The women searched his desk and found shocking evidence: loan papers in Kate’s name, a mortgaged house, and fake passports.

“So, Max isn’t even Max,” Kate said, furious.

Lisa nodded. “He planned to scam us both.”

Kate looked haunted. “In three days, we were supposed to go to Chicago for an auction. Max made me sell a painting I loved.”

Lisa pressed, “What auction?”

Kate shook her head. “Never mind. There are bigger things now.”

Lisa studied the passports. “We could hand him over to the police.”

Kate shook her head. “No. I want to see his face when he loses everything. Transfer the money to him. We’ll track the withdrawals with the police.”

Lisa hesitated. “But that’s my house money.”

Kate’s eyes burned with determination. “Do you want him behind bars?”

Lisa nodded. “Yes.”

“Then let’s do it.”

Lisa called Max. “Hey, Max. Want to have lunch today?”

“Sure, I can pick you up in an hour,” Max said easily.

Kate’s phone rang. “It’s Max,” she whispered to Lisa.

Kate answered coldly, “Hello?”

Max said, “I’ll be late. Don’t wait up.”

At lunch, Lisa told Max, “I’ve decided to give you the money for your father’s surgery.”

Max smiled widely. “Thank you, Lisa. You’re amazing.”

Lisa forced a smile, but inside she was hurting.

After transferring the money, they ate quietly.

Max asked to use Lisa’s bathroom before leaving. She agreed, nervous.

When he left, Lisa called Kate. No answer.

Something was wrong.

Lisa rushed to Max and Kate’s house.

It was empty.

They had vanished.

Panicked, Lisa called her father.

“They took everything. They ran,” Lisa cried.

Tom sighed. “These con artists cover their tracks well. We’ll try to help, but it won’t be easy.”

Lisa went home, tired and sad.

Then she realized something terrible—her family heirloom ring was missing.

She always took off her rings before showering.

She searched everywhere.

Gone.

Max must have stolen it.

The precious ring, passed down for generations, was now in Max’s hands—probably to sell.

Then she remembered the auction Kate mentioned.

Lisa started searching online for auctions.

Nothing showed up.

It had to be underground.

Determined, she called a client who knew about secret auctions.

He helped her get into the only underground auction in Chicago.

Disguised, Lisa entered the dark, crowded hall.

She saw Kate on stage, holding her ring.

“That’s my ring,” Lisa whispered to a woman nearby.

The woman ignored her.

Bidding started fast, the price climbing higher and higher.

Lisa’s heart pounded.

Finally, she won the ring for $300,000.

Kate asked, voice trembling, “How will you pay?”

Lisa stood and faced the crowd.

She walked on stage and shouted, “Max will pay for everything!”

Suddenly, police officers stormed in.

Chaos erupted.

Kate was handcuffed.

Lisa felt a mix of victory and sadness.

At the police station, Lisa watched Kate’s interrogation behind a one-way mirror.

Kate looked defeated.

The detective said, “Make this easier, Kate. Tell us where Max is.”

Kate hesitated, then agreed. “I want a deal.”

She gave an address.

Later, Max was brought in.

The detective said, “You’re in big trouble. Fraud, theft, identity theft. Kate told us everything.”

Max’s confident mask broke.

He was finished.

Lisa left the station feeling heavy but relieved.

Max was finally caught.

Her ring was back.

She had closure.

The night air was cool as she stepped outside.

A new chapter awaited her—one of hope, strength, and a fresh start.
