But how does this food reach rescue groups like Refurbished Pets?

The GOODS Program, a pet food distribution initiative within the Greater Good Charities family, has been sustaining hungry bellies for over a decade. The funds from your purchases are converted into nutritious food that every shelter is grateful to receive. Increased food donations mean more financial resources can be allocated to the medical care of sick and injured dogs.

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 600 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide, equivalent to more than 6,000 truckloads for hungry animals! This substantial contribution allows dog lovers at Refurbished Pets to redirect funds that were previously earmarked for food toward unexpected medical expenses or supplies for new foster families.

“The GOODS Program has provided RPSM with food and treats for the dogs both in the prison program and in foster care,” shared Refurbished Pets of Southern Michigan. “This allows the rescue to use funds that were previously allocated for food and spend them on unexpected medical expenses or supplies provided to new foster families.”

Maverick was fortunate to benefit from GOODS donations as one of the hungry pups. Grateful for the good eats and care, Maverick, suspected to have come from a puppy mill with some training issues, is now overjoyed with his forever family.

“Maverick here (you may remember me as Pumba at the shelter). I’m with my forever family. We’ve been on a family trip to the lake already. I learned so much in training I can’t wait to show off with my family.”
