By purchasing products from the iHugDogs store, funds are raised for the non-profit organization “Greater Good Charities.” This organization supports various animals through its GOODS Program, which delivers healthy meals to shelters and rescue organizations. Thanks to such donations, numerous animals have already been saved.
Zipper is among the many dogs whose lives have been positively impacted by the GOODS Program. She underwent Femoral Head Ostectomy surgery (FHO) on her injured leg, a significant procedure that entails a lengthy recovery. During this period, Zipper, despite her playful and energetic nature, couldn’t partake in extended walks.
To alleviate Zipper’s boredom during recovery, Friends of Detroit Animal Care and Control received chew donations from the GOODS Program, ensuring Zipper remained content and well-fed. Her preferred chews, Oinkies from Hartz, became her go-to savory pig-flavored treats whenever she felt restless.
A Successful Healing Journey!
Presently, Zipper faces no limitations or special requirements linked to her surgery. Although one of her hind legs needs to build some muscle, it hasn’t hindered her from enjoying walks and utilizing stairs. Affectionate and playful, Zipper loves cuddling, engaging with plush toys, and indulging in as many treats as she can.
Through donations from the GOODS Program, recovering dogs like Zipper receive crucial supplies such as food and treats. This allows the shelter to prioritize the medical needs of the dogs without the added concern of affording nutritious meals, ultimately enabling them to rescue more dogs.

Currently in a loving foster home, Zipper eagerly awaits adoption by a family that will give her the life she truly deserves.
