Often, these are amusing and touching incidents. Unfortunately, the unimaginable cruelty that we humans inflict on our fellow creatures is also revealed frequently. My personal affection for animals dates back to my childhood, as I grew up with dogs, cats, ponies, and donkeys. Later on, my interest in animal welfare and animal rights issues developed.
